Warframe Wiki

Warframe is a popular, free-to-play action role-playing third-person shooter multiplayer online game developed and published by Digital Extremes. The game was initially released for Windows personal computers in 2013, and it was later ported to various gaming consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Support for cross-platform play was released in 2022, and ports to mobile devices are planned for 2023.

Warframe is currently in perpetual open beta, meaning that it is continually being developed and updated by the developers. The game has garnered a significant following due to its intense gameplay, deep customization options, and engaging storyline.

Warframe is a popular and engaging third-person shooter multiplayer online game developed and published by Digital Extremes. The game is set in Earth’s distant future and sees players controlling members of the Tenno, ancient warriors who have awoken from centuries of suspended animation to find themselves at war with different factions in the planetary system. The Tenno use their powered Warframes, weapons, and abilities to take on various missions and engage in battles.

While Warframe includes procedurally generated levels, it also features large open-world areas and some story-specific missions with fixed-level design. The game offers a unique blend of shooting, melee combat, parkour, and role-playing to give players plenty of opportunities to advance their Tenno with improved gear. It also offers both player versus environment and player versus player elements to keep things interesting.

Warframe is supported by microtransactions, which allow players to purchase in-game items using real money. However, there is also an option for players to earn these items through grinding without having to spend money. Overall, Warframe offers an exciting and immersive gaming experience that has captured the attention of many players across various gaming platforms.

Warframe experienced slow growth, facing moderate critical reviews and low player counts. The game has steadily gained popularity and is now one of Digital Extremes’ most successful titles. As of 2019, Warframe has seen nearly 50 million registered players, who enjoy its unique blend of shooting, melee combat, parkour, and role-playing elements.

Warframe Best Frames

The game will introduce a series of significant updates, starting with the Duviri Paradox, which will unveil a fresh game mode and location. Hildryn Prime, a much-anticipated addition to the player’s Warframe collection, will accompany this release. Players who are excited about this extensive content update may want to equip themselves with the game’s top Warframes. Some of the listed Warframes utilize tendrils, razor flies, kinetic energy, and even life force to enhance their fighting abilities.

Xaku

Xaku is a distinctive Warframe that fans can get their hands on. It is a fusion of several old Warframes with an unstable power source. In the hands of players, Xaku is a potent long-range support unit, thanks to its passive that gives a 25% dodge chance against attacks and a constant 25% damage reduction against AOE attacks. This support potential makes Xaku adept at crowd control as well, as The Lost allows Xaku to use its three (3) Warframe components to stun enemies in different ways.

During combat, Xaku can utilize Xata’s Whisper to periodically transform all attacks into Void damage, thereby boosting its damage output. It can also use the Grasp of Lohk to snatch all ranged weapons from enemies, forcing them to engage in melee combat. While enemies are disarmed, Xaku can use their weapons as floating long-range replicas. Lastly, its ultimate ability, The Vast Untime, causes Xaku’s armor to expel, allowing enemies to take increased damage from Void Damage while also revealing a skeletal form that has increased speed and dodging abilities.

Titania

Titania in Warframe is a queen of fairies who commands an army of mechanized butterflies. Her passive ability boosts her mobility, and her abilities grant an Upsurge buff to allies within 15 meters, regenerating 4 HP per second for 20 seconds. Spellbind disarms enemies and grants allies temporary immunity to status effects, while Tribute forces debuff on enemies, including damage reduction, accuracy reduction, increased damage taken, and slowed movement. Lantern forces enemies to gather around a cluster of razor flies, while Razorwing allows Titania to fly and attack enemies with razor flies.

Gauss

Gauss in Warframe is an electrifying fast Warframe that excels in outpacing and outlasting enemies. His passive constantly fills up his battery when moving, ensuring his shields recharge faster. His abilities, such as Mach Rush, provide him with hyper-sprinting movement and a powerful shockwave. Gauss’s Kinetic Plating provides protection against knockdowns and staggers, while Thermal Sunder can freeze opponents or damage them through fire. His ultimate ability, Redline, supercharges his abilities and provides tremendous boosts to attack speed, holster rate, firing speed, and reload speed, and can also release a shockwave of electricity for burst damage when deactivated.

Garuda

Garuda in Warframe is a Warframe that excels in brutal melee combat. Her Talons can be used instead of a melee weapon and can be modded and customized separately. Her passive, Death’s Gate, grants damage bonuses to her abilities each time she kills an opponent. Garuda’s abilities include Dread Mirror, which conjures a mirror out of the opponent’s life force that absorbs damage and creates a projectile attack. Blood Altar impales a target with her talons and steals health for Garuda and her teammates, while Bloodletting allows her to trade life force for energy. Her ultimate ability, Seeking Talons, sends out her talons to explore the area and hit targets, with survivors being more prone to damage-over-time bleeding.

Wukong

Wukong’s abilities in Warframe gameplay allow players to divide themselves and summon a Specter for protection. His passive ability allows him to cheat death three times, while his abilities Celestial Twin, Cloud Walker, Defy, and Primal Fury offer formidable defense and attack options. Wukong’s Iron Staff can also be used for stealth kills, making him a versatile option for players who want a mix of offense and defense. And with his various abilities, he can easily adapt to different mission types and team compositions, making him a great choice for players who prefer a well-rounded Warframe. Overall, Wukong’s kit offers a unique playstyle that emphasizes survivability and versatility.

Nezha

For players seeking a versatile and agile Warframe, Nezha is a compelling option. With his substantial health pool, impressive sprint speed, and crowd control abilities, Nezha can function effectively as a tank or a DPS depending on the player’s preferences. His Fire Walker ability enhances his mobility, leaving a trail of flame that culminates in a fiery explosion upon teleportation.

Warding Halo is another useful ability, creating a protective bubble around Nezha that stuns any nearby enemies. Additionally, his Blazing Chakram serves as a ranged attack that weakens enemies and causes them to drop restorative orbs upon defeat. For particularly dangerous situations, Nezha’s Divine Spears impales multiple enemies before slamming them to the ground with devastating force.

Nekros

Nekros is a versatile and beginner-friendly Warframe that excels at resource farming. His abilities include transforming enemies into projectiles, creating space with Terrify, and summoning a shadow army with Shadows of the Dead. He is also capable of being very tanky when built correctly.

Nekros is a great choice for those who enjoy playing a support role in their team. His Despoil Augment allows him to sacrifice his own health to restore energy, making him a valuable energy provider. Furthermore, Nekros can also help his team with his augment mod Shield of Shadows, which grants damage reduction to himself and nearby allies while his Shadows of the Dead ability is active. Overall, Nekros is a versatile and valuable Warframe that can fit in any mission and team composition.

Gara

Gara is a Warframe that excels in using Glass as both defense and offense. She has high armor and can turn enemies brittle before shattering them with ease. Her abilities include Splinter Storm, which damages enemies while fortifying allies, Shattered Lash, a strong damaging ability, and Spectrorage, which taunts enemies to attack mirrors that damage them. Her ultimate, Mass Vitrify, creates a circle of molten glass that encases enemies and blocks gunfire. Shattered Lash can be used to explore the circle and send shards flying.

Rhino

Rhino is a great choice for those seeking a strong tank Warframe that can absorb damage and protect the team. With Rhino’s abilities, players can easily charge towards enemies with Charge, and stun them with Stomp. Additionally, Rhino can also buff teammates’ damage output with Roar. His Iron Skin ability provides protection against attacks that can easily damage other Warframes. Overall, Rhino is a valuable addition to any team looking to dish out high damage while also being able to withstand enemy attacks.

Protea

Consider Protea if you want a well-rounded Warframe that can fill various roles in team play and solo situations. It boasts good damage potential, but some of its abilities are niche and its energy pool is a bit low. Grenade Fan provides damage and protection, while Blaze Artillery can nuke smaller enemies and deal with beefier ones. Dispensary drops health, energy, and ammo packs for Protea and their teammates, while Temporal Anchor deals damage and saves Protea from being downed.

Saryn

Saryn is a Warframe that uses decay and disease to gain the upper hand against enemies. Despite her infected appearance, she has decent health and armor and a flexible toolkit that allows her to deal significant damage over time. Her Spores ability spreads continuously to targets, dealing more damage as it spreads, while her Toxic Lash grants all attacks Toxin damage that doubles in her melee strikes. Saryn’s Molt ability lets her shed her skin and leave a decoy to dodge attacks, and her Miasma Ultimate deals Viral damage to enemies within range, especially those infected by the Spores.

Wisp

Wisp is a Warframe that embodies the enigmatic nature of Will-O-Wisps, appearing and disappearing like a mystical butterfly. This mobility-based Warframe utilizes dimensional portals to take enemies by surprise, making her a versatile and supportive member of any team. Wisp’s Reservoirs (S1) allow her to summon Haste Motes or Vitality Motes to increase the squad’s speed or heal them respectively. Shock Motes stun enemies, while her Will-O-Wisp (S2) ability creates a spectral clone that can distract or serve as an escape. Breach Surge (S3) can be used to damage enemies or create a gateway for Reservoirs, and her Sol Gate (Ult) unleashes a portal to the Sun that deals intense plasma damage.

Octavia

Octavia, a siren Warframe, wields the power of music to damage her enemies. She’s unique because she comes with a Mandachord, allowing players to compose songs for use in combat that resonate with Octavia’s abilities. For instance, percussive songs trigger Mallet (S1), which deals damage to nearby enemies and increases damage based on damage taken. Resonator (S2) summons a rollerball that damages and charms enemies with bass music, while Metronome (S3) grants buffs for melodic songs, including speed, stealth, multishot, and damage. Finally, Amp (Ult) vastly improves damage for the whole squad and buffs the range and damage of all nearby Mallets.

Sevagoth

Sevagoth, the harbinger of death, wields the power of the Void to shroud his enemies in darkness. This unique Warframe is highly versatile, possessing two distinct forms: its base form and the Shadow. Upon death, Sevagoth’s Shadow emerges and must harvest souls to revive his physical form. The Shadow has separate abilities and a unique form, granting Sevagoth a second life to turn the tide of battle.

The Shadow plays a crucial role in Sevagoth’s skillset. Reap (S1) summons the Shadow to attack enemies from the front, while Sow (S2) allows Sevagoth to plant a death seed that drains the life force of nearby foes. Gloom, a wave of darkness, provides valuable crowd control. As Sevagoth continues to harvest souls, he can trigger Exalted Shadow (Ult), unleashing devastating melee attacks from his Shadow form.

Khora

Khora is a skilled hunter who fights alongside her companion, Venari, providing her team with powerful offensive support. Using her livewire, Khora can unleash a variety of attacks, including claws, whiplashes, and steel-on-steel strikes.

Khora is unique among Warframes in that she fights alongside Venari, a companion with its own set of special traits and stances that enhance its combat abilities. In combat, Khora’s attacks cover a wide range of options. Her Whipclaw (S1) is a highly effective long-range attack, while Ensnare (S2) can stun enemies, leaving them vulnerable to powerful combos. With Venari (S3), Khora can order her companion to focus on a specific enemy or revive her instantly. Finally, her Strangledome (Ult) creates a drone that ensnares and damages enemies.

Nova

Nova employs the power of antimatter to obliterate her foes and protect her comrades. Her innate ability deflects incoming knockdowns and retaliates with her own knockdown. With Worm Hole (S3), Nova can create an interdimensional portal for easy transportation. Nova’s arsenal includes Null Star (S1), which launches guided missiles, and Antimatter Drop (S2), a collision-based AOE. Nova’s ultimate, Molecular Prime, applies an antimatter charge to enemies, priming them for devastating explosions upon death.

Nova exemplifies the classic mage archetype in Warframe, dealing potent single-target and AOE damage. Despite her frailty, Nova encourages players to experiment with elemental damage and modding to enhance her abilities.

Mesa

Mesa’s signature style and gunslinging prowess make her a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Despite her lack of a melee weapon, Mesa compensates with a health boost and a Passive that enhances her ranged weapon proficiency. With Ballistic Battery (S1), she can charge up her shots for extra damage, and Peacemaker (Ult) turns her into a rapid-fire machine gun. Her kit also includes Shooting Gallery (S2), which buffs her allies’ weapons and stuns nearby enemies, and Shatter Shield (S3), which provides her with a protective shield.

Mesa is a prime example of a Warframe specializing in ranged combat. Her abilities are designed to maximize the potential of firearms, making her an efficient killer of gun-wielding enemies. She does not require any crowd control abilities if she can eliminate foes quickly. As a result, Mesa is a popular choice for players who prefer to deal damage from a distance.

Trinity

Trinity is a straightforward Warframe that excels in support roles. With her Passive, she can revive teammates faster, while her Link (S3) ability disperses damage to nearby enemies. Her Well of Life (S1) provides life steal to allies targeting a specific enemy, while Energy Vampire (S2) restores energy to her team. Trinity’s Blessing (Ult) is a powerful healing ability that also grants damage resistance to her party.

Trinity’s kit is well-suited for defensive missions, as she can easily replenish her allies’ resources and deflect enemy attacks. While other Warframes may have more specialized support abilities, Trinity is an excellent choice for those who prefer a traditional healer role.

Volt

Volt is not just a one-trick pony with his lightning-based abilities. His Passive enhances his Electricity Damage, making his abilities even more potent. His Shock (S1) is a versatile skill that both damages and stuns enemies, while his Speed (S2) provides him and his squad with enhanced mobility. Additionally, Volt’s Electric Shield (S3) gives him and his allies additional protection, and his Discharge (Ult) stuns enemies in a wide radius around him.

Thanks to his well-rounded kit, Volt is a valuable asset to any squad. He can deal with multiple enemies at once while also providing support to his teammates. His abilities allow him to seamlessly transition between ranged and melee combat, making him a versatile Warframe that can be relied upon even in the most challenging missions.

Limbo

Limbo’s abilities are heavily centered around his unique Rift Plane mechanic, allowing him to manipulate the fabric of space and time. Banish (S1) sends enemies or allies to the Rift Plane, while Stasis (S2) freezes them in place. Rift Surge (S3) increases the damage output of Limbo’s Banish and Stasis abilities, while also granting allies in the Rift Plane bonus damage. Finally, Cataclysm (Ult) creates a powerful dome that deals damage to all enemies inside while protecting Limbo and his allies from outside threats.

Limbo’s kit provides unparalleled control and manipulation of the battlefield. By using his abilities in tandem with one another, Limbo can isolate and eliminate high-priority targets, defend objectives with ease, and even manipulate the flow of time itself to gain the upper hand in combat.
