Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Development

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is currently being developed by Ubisoft Montpelier, best known for the Rayman series. The development process took approximately three and a half years.

The game’s composers include Gareth Coker and Iranian composer Mentrix. Director Mounir Radi drew inspiration from Persian mythology and said the team’s goal was to illuminate this mythology and show how Persian culture influenced other myths, introducing creatures such as the manticore as boss characters.

The game is set in the Prince of Persia universe and is an original work, neither a sequel nor a prequel. Described as a “gifted young warrior,” Sargon modernized the series’ look, with art direction incorporating a fresh visual design inspired by modern and urban culture. Despite mixed reactions to the June 2023 first trailer, series creator Jordan Mechner expressed support, saying this was the Prince of Persia game he’d always wanted.
