Assassins Creed Mirage Ending Explained, Gameplay, and More

Assassin’s Creed Phantoms Ending Explained

The ending of Assassin’s Creed Phantoms reveals something important. It’s about the Basim we met in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and his journey back to 9th century Baghdad. Basim wants to confront Bahamut, the leader of the cult in Baghdad, to stop their evil plans. But it turns out that Kabiha, once the Caliph’s concubine and murdered by Nihal, was also looking for Basim.

She knew he had ties to the ancient Isu civilization. Kabiha offered to tell Basim more about his true self, but before she could speak, she was killed by Master Assassin Roshan, who warned Basim not to seek answers. Basim and Neal travel to Alamut and discover a secret chamber containing Isu technology. Basim discovers Nihal in the sarcophagus inside. This is a twist, as Nier is actually part of Basim’s mind, representing the memory of Loki, the Isu from Norse mythology.

In the room, Basim also sees a hologram showing his past torture, and the jailor is likely Odin. This is related to the story of “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla”. Basim reconciles with his past, merges with Nihal, and fully becomes Loki. His eagle Enkidu sensed the change. Finally, Basim vows revenge on those who tormented him, hinting at his quest to find and confront Odin (Evor) in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Phantoms

Assassin’s Creed Phantoms is a new video game produced by Ubisoft. It is the 13th game in the Assassin’s Creed series, following the 2020 game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game was released on October 5, 2023, for different platforms such as PlayStation and Xbox. The game is also planned to launch on iPhone 15 Pro in 2024. The game is set in 9th century Baghdad and tells the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq.

He started out as a street thief but later became a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. They fought for peace and freedom, while their enemies, the Templars, wanted peace through control. Phantom is unlike recent games in the series. It’s more focused on telling a simple story and slipping in quietly, rather than heavy role-playing. When Phantom came out, many game critics loved it. They say it’s a return to the fun of Assassin’s Creed.

Assassin’s Creed Phantoms gameplay

In Assassin’s Creed Phantoms, the gameplay is reminiscent of older games in the series, focusing on a more linear and story-driven experience while reducing the complexity of recent RPG elements. Players will engage in parkour, close combat, and stealth maneuvers as core elements of gameplay. For assassination missions, the game adopts the “black box” design from previous “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” and “Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate”.

This design requires players to explore the environment and discover various ways to reach and eliminate objectives. The main setting of the game is the city of Baghdad, which is divided into four districts, including the Round City, Kah, Abbasiyya with the House of Wisdom, and Habia. In addition, players will explore Alamut, the Fortress headquarters of the Hidden Ones.

The world of Baghdad is smaller than more recent entries in the series, similar to Paris in Assassin’s Creed Unity and Constantinople in Assassin’s Creed Revelations. The protagonist Basin possesses a variety of weapons and tools, such as the iconic assassin’s hidden blade, smoke grenades, throwing knives and poison darts, which can all be upgraded through the skill tree.

Basim also uses eagle vision and a bird companion named Enkidu (the Eastern Imperial Eagle) for reconnaissance, though it’s worth noting that enemy archers can target and attack Enkidu. Phantom introduces a new ability called Assassin Focus, which allows players to eliminate multiple enemies at once and can be charged up through stealth assassinations.

Additionally, players can use poles scattered throughout Baghdad to traverse wide gaps. The game features sophisticated movement and running animations that draw inspiration from samurai, ninjas, and even Jedi for enhanced mobility and fluidity.
